Tengrinews.kz - A new type of visa has been introduced in Kazakhstan, according to the press service of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports.
Travelers planning a trip to Kazakhstan can now apply for a Neo Nomad visa. This visa is designed for digital nomads — people who combine work and travel, working remotely while immersing themselves in the culture of a new country.
"The new visa regime takes into account the international experience of more than 50 countries that have successfully implemented similar programs after the pandemic," the statement said.
To qualify for the Neo Nomad visa, foreign citizens must provide proof of a stable income of at least $3,000 per month. Other requirements include having health insurance and a certificate of no criminal record.
The visa allows digital nomads to stay in Kazakhstan for up to one year without the need to work for local companies, enabling such professionals to remain connected to their employers abroad. The target audience for the visa includes specialists in programming, marketing, finance, design, consulting, and e-commerce.
The Neo Nomad program will not only allow Kazakhstan to attract highly skilled professionals but also bring significant economic benefits. It is estimated that if around 500 people obtain the Neo Nomad visa, it will create an economic impact of approximately 3.6 billion tenge per year. Foreign specialists, living and working in Kazakhstan, will contribute to the local economy by renting housing, using transportation, visiting dining establishments, and attending cultural events without creating competition in the domestic labor market.
