Tengrinews.kz - Thai AirAsia X, a low-cost carrier based in Bangkok, will begin operating direct regular flights between Bangkok and Almaty starting December 1, according to Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Transport.
The airline will operate four flights per week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays.
Thai AirAsia X is a subsidiary of the AirAsia Group and specializes in long-haul budget travel. The carrier is based at Don Mueang International Airport in Bangkok and serves several destinations across Asia and beyond. Like most low-cost airlines, it offers affordable fares while charging extra for services such as baggage, onboard meals, and seat selection.
For Kazakh citizens, Thailand remains a visa-free destination for stays of up to 30 days for tourism purposes, with a maximum of 90 days allowed within any 180-day period. Travelers are advised to check local entry requirements, including insurance and possible health-related rules, before planning their trips.
