Tengrinews.kz - Migration service officers in Astana have identified 279 foreign nationals who violated Kazakhstan's migration laws.
According to the city police department, 279 foreign nationals and 53 Kazakh citizens were found to be in violation of migration regulations.
In addition, 15 employers were identified for illegally hiring foreign workers without obtaining the required permits from local authorities.
"As a result of the inspection, 67 foreign nationals were deported. Authorities also identified 11 individuals who had ignored court orders to leave Kazakhstan. They were forcibly expelled from the country," said Erbol Makhmetov, head of the migration police.
A Nigerian citizen whose exit visa had expired was charged under Article 517 of the Code of Administrative Offenses, which governs migration violations by foreigners and stateless persons.
Earlier, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection revealed the number of ethnic Kazakhs who have returned to their homeland since 1991.
Previously, six Pakistani nationals were found working illegally at a construction site in Astana.
