More rain?
As a northwestern cyclone and associated atmospheric fronts pass through, most of the country will face unstable weather. Rain and thunderstorms are expected, along with gusty winds. Heavy rain is forecast during the daytime in northern and northwestern regions, with a chance of hail. Dust storms are expected in the southwest, south, and southeast.
Temperature swings
In the north, nighttime temperatures will dip slightly from 10-17°C to 8-15°C, and daytime highs will decrease from 25-30°C to 18-23°C.
Eastern Kazakhstan will see a slight warming trend, with nighttime temperatures rising from 7-18°C to 9-20°C and daytime temperatures increasing from 22-33°C to 24-35°C.
A similar trend is expected in the southeast, where nighttime temperatures will rise from 5-15°C to 7-17°C, and daytime highs will climb from 22-30°C to 25-35°C.
In the southern regions, residents should brace for extreme heat, with temperatures potentially reaching 40-42°C during the day.
What will summer 2025 be like in Kazakhstan?
Earlier, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Yerlan Nyssanbayev shared the weather forecast for the upcoming summer in Kazakhstan. In June, temperatures in the north and center will range from 17–20°C, and in the south and west up to 28°C. In some parts of the southwest, temperatures could reach 45°C.
Rainfall in June and July is expected to be within normal levels, though the north, south, and southeast may receive slightly more. In August and September, less rainfall is expected, and temperatures may be about 1°C above normal. This forecast is preliminary and subject to change.
