Massimov: Knowledge of Kazakh language should be compulsory for Kazakhs
Kazakhstan Prime-Minister Karim Massimov thinks that knowledge of the mother tongue should be compulsory for Kazakhs, online-conference at Zakon.kz. Massimov noted that there is no point is making adults who don't speak Kazakh learn the state language. “Regardless of nationality, young people need to learn Kazakh language, this is natural,” PM said. “There are enough methods (for learning Kazakh). It is possible to at least to learn the spoken language. He who wants to learn will learn it.” Karim Massimov added that Kazakhstan residents should not forget Russian language, as “we have learnt the world culture through Russian language.” Head of the Government also said that it is wise learn English, because it is unrivaled in scientific and technical areas.
