Tengrinews.kz — Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Montenegrin President Jakov Milatović held talks in a narrow format in Astana, citing Akorda.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that Kazakhstan attaches special importance to this first-ever visit by a Montenegrin head of state.
"We view this visit as a very important event for our country. I am confident that the results of our negotiations will provide a new impetus to bilateral relations. Our compatriots are well-acquainted with Montenegro. Many of our citizens vacation in your country every year and return with positive impressions. Taking this opportunity, I congratulate you on the 20th anniversary of your country's independence. Over these years, we have established good relations. I believe it is necessary to provide our interaction with new substance, as there are no obstacles to this. The composition of your accompanying business delegation is very substantial. This demonstrates your intention to strengthen large-scale economic and business ties," Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said.
Jakov Milatović thanked President Tokayev for the invitation to pay an official visit to Kazakhstan.
"As you have already noted, this is the first official visit of a Montenegrin president to Kazakhstan. I am confident that today we will expand the horizons of bilateral cooperation. This visit demonstrates that our ties are reaching a high level. I have arrived here as a representative of a friendly nation. Representatives of the Montenegrin business community have come with me. The chambers of commerce of our two countries will hold a business forum, and a number of memorandums will be signed. We know that Montenegro is a popular destination for Kazakh citizens, and we want to further strengthen our ties in this area. We would like to discuss with you the possibilities of expanding not only political cooperation but also economic partnership," the President of Montenegro said.
