Tengrinews.kz - A major fire broke out in one of the buildings on Mangilik El Avenue in Astana. The incident was captured on video.
A reader sent footage of the scene to the Tengrinews.kz editorial office.
“At this moment, Astana’s firefighters are extinguishing a fire at a restaurant located on Mangilik El Avenue in the Esil district. Emergency responders are working under an elevated response category. Details of the incident are being clarified,” the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) press service reported.
According to the footage, the restaurant building was filled with smoke. There is no information on whether anyone was inside during the fire.

At 5:00 p.m., the MES reported that the fire had been localized. This means the spread of the fire was stopped, but it had not yet been fully extinguished.

According to updated information, a fire broke out in the kitchen of one of the restaurants on Mangilik El Avenue due to burning oil in a deep fryer.
Firefighting efforts were complicated by heavy smoke, narrow access roads, and parked private vehicles. No information about victims was reported to the emergency number 112.

At 5:13 p.m., the MES reported that the fire had been completely extinguished. There were no casualties.
On July 3, a high fire danger level was declared in Kazakhstan. Air temperatures exceeded 35 degrees Celsius, with no precipitation. Maksat Elemesov, Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Forestry and Wildlife of the Ministry of Ecology, shared which regions of the country are at risk of forest fires.
