Tengrinews.kz - A warehouse caught fire in the village of Aksukent, Sayram district of Turkestan region. Fire crews worked under an elevated response level, citing the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan.
Details of the incident, which occurred on Sunday, August 24, were provided by the ministry’s press service.
"The 112 emergency hotline received a report of a warehouse fire in Sayram district, Aksukent village, Turkestan region. By the time the first units arrived, the blaze had already spread and there was a partial collapse of the floor structure," the statement reads.
A fire suppression headquarters was set up at the site. Officials noted that extinguishing efforts were complicated by a high fuel load, intense heat radiation, and heavy smoke.
In total, 28 firefighters and 8 units of equipment from the regional emergency department were deployed. No information on casualties was reported, the ministry added.
At the time of publication, rescuers had localized the fire.
