Tengrinews.kz — The Central Election Commission of Kazakhstan held a random draw today to determine the order of political parties on the ballot for the upcoming Kurultai deputy elections.
The draw was conducted by Mukhtar Yerman, Deputy Chairman of the CEC. He placed numbers 1 through 7 into white envelopes and arranged them on a table.
Representatives of the political parties then took turns coming to the table to select an envelope. The resulting number determined the party's position on the ballot for the forthcoming Kurultai elections. A total of 545 candidates have been registered for the vote.
Following the draw, the parties will appear on the ballot in the following order:
- Adilet Party.
- Nationwide Social Democratic Party (OSDP).
- Baytaq Kazakh Green Party.
- People's Party of Kazakhstan (NPK).
- Auyl People's Democratic Patriotic Party.
- Ak Zhol Democratic Party of Kazakhstan.
- Respublica.

The ballot will also include an "Against All" option.
Kurultai elections
Since July 1, Kazakhstan has country's new Constitution came into effect. Following this, the Mazhilis and Senate ceased operations, and the deputies' mandates ended. Now, instead of a bicameral Parliament, a new legislative body—the Kurultai—will operate in the country.
The first elections for Kurultai deputies will be held on August 23, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed the corresponding decree.
The Central Election Commission (CEC) has approved the schedule for the election of deputies to the new unicameral Parliament, the Kurultai. The commission detailed the election campaign process, the pre-election silence period, and the voting timeline.
