Tengrinews.kz - Information has appeared online that the father of convicted ex-minister Kuandyk Bishimbayev, Valikhan Bishimbayev, is opening a private university in Taraz under the brand name Bishimbayev University. The Ministry of Science and Higher Education responded to the mailing.
The ministry recalled that, according to the law "On Education", any educational activity in the field of higher and postgraduate education is subject to licensing. The issuance of relevant licenses, as well as appendices to them, is the prerogative of the ministry.
"Based on the above, the ministry excludes the receipt of a license for the educational activities of Bishimbayev University, as well as the absence of an application in the 'e-licensing' information system," the department's publication says.
Reminder: On May 13, the trial in the case of the murder of Saltanat Nukenova concluded in Astana. Former Minister of National Economy Kuandyk Bishimbayev was found guilty of torturing and murdering his wife and was sentenced to 24 years in prison.
