Tengrinews.kz - Kazakhstan’s seismologists have recorded an earthquake in China.

According to the Institute of Seismology under the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the seismic monitoring network of "National Scientific Center for Seismological Observations and Research" LLP registered the earthquake on December 18 at 3:01 p.m. Astana time.

"The epicenter of the earthquake is located in China, 371 kilometers southeast of Almaty. There were no reported tremors felt in Kazakhstan," the statement read.

It was also noted that earlier on December 18 at 3:01 a.m. Astana time, seismologists recorded another earthquake near the China-Kazakhstan border. The epicenter was 576 kilometers northeast of Almaty. This earthquake was also not felt in Kazakhstan, according to the MSK-64 scale.

On December 11, an earthquake occurred overnight in Kyrgyzstan with a magnitude of 4.4.
