Tengrinews.kz - Kazakhstanis will soon be able to travel directly to Jordan, as plans for a new international route are underway.
Direct flight to Jordan
The Deputy Minister of Transport of Kazakhstan, Talgat Lastayev, met with the Ambassador of Jordan to Kazakhstan, Hamzeh Al-Omari, to discuss the launch of direct flights between the two countries.
The initiative follows the visit of Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Jordan in February 2025, during which the Jordanian side expressed interest in establishing direct air service with Kazakhstan.
During the meeting, both sides reviewed preparations and the drafting of an air services agreement.
Ambassador Al-Omari announced that Royal Jordanian Airlines plans to begin direct flights to Kazakhstan in June 2026, with a frequency of two flights per week. In response, the Kazakh side expressed readiness to assist with the launch of the route under existing agreements.
As a result, Kazakhstanis are expected to be able to fly to Jordan starting from summer 2026.
Previously, Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Transport announced the launch of new direct flights to several other countries starting in May 2025. These include Hungary, Germany, Turkey, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, China, South Korea, and Vietnam.
