Tengrinews.kz - Kazakhstan will gift 1,500 saiga antelopes to China to help restore the species there, according to the presidential press service.

"President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev announced the decision to present 1,500 saiga antelopes to the Chinese government for relocation to western China in order to help restore the species in the neighboring country. In response, Chinese President Xi Jinping expressed his gratitude to President Tokayev for the decision, as China is planning to revive its saiga population," the presidential press service said.

Previously, Minister of Ecology Yerlan Nyssanbayev announced that saiga meat would soon be available in retail stores across Kazakhstan.
