Tengrinews.kz - Kazakhstan will tighten control over urban development. In particular, it is planned to introduce criminal liability for the illegal issuance of permits. This was reported by Vice Minister of Industry and Construction Kuandyk Kazhkenov.
During the discussion of the draft Construction Code in the Mazhilis, the official stated that control over the implementation of urban development projects will be carried out through the automated information system of the state urban development cadastre. It will allow for prompt monitoring of construction projects' compliance with approved urban development documentation.
"In addition, it is planned to provide for a ban on the issuance by akimats (local government administrations) of resolutions on design and survey work and changes in the intended purpose of a land plot in violation of urban planning documentation, with the introduction of criminal liability for issuing permits in violation of approved urban planning projects, as well as (to provide for - ed.) the participation of the Department of State Architectural and Construction Control and other bodies in the acceptance of facilities into operation," Kazhkenov said.
