No ban on potato exports

Given the stabilisation of prices on the domestic market and sufficient stocks, it was decided that temporary restrictions on potato exports are not advisable.

Easing requirements for beef exporters

The IMC approved a relaxation of the conditions for obtaining export quotas for beef. Previously, these conditions included a mandatory feedlot capacity of at least 5,000 head and having one’s own meat-processing plant. The decision is in line with the Comprehensive Plan for the Development of Animal Husbandry, which provides for an increase in the cattle population from 7.9 to 12 million head and an expansion of the export potential of Kazakh beef. The Ministry of Agriculture will introduce corresponding amendments to the rules for quota allocation.

At the same time, the need to preserve breeding stock and supply raw materials to domestic processing enterprises required an extension of the ban on the export of breeding cattle and small ruminants, as well as bull calves, including to EAEU countries.

Six-month ban on imports of chicken eggs

The Ministry of Agriculture will introduce a six-month ban on the import of chicken eggs, including from EAEU countries. There are 70 poultry farms operating in Kazakhstan, of which 34 are for egg production, 29 for meat production and 7 for breeding reproduction. In 2025, production of chicken eggs increased by 2.4 percent to 4,568.5 million units, covering 98 percent of domestic demand.
