Tengrinews.kz — Mazhilis Speaker Yerlan Koshanov has signed an order to convene a joint session of the chambers of Parliament. It is scheduled for May 15.
According to the order, the next joint session of the chambers will take place in the capital this Friday.
"In accordance with subparagraph 2 of paragraph 4 of Article 58 of the Constitution, a joint session of the chambers of Parliament shall be convened on May 15, 2026, at 10:00 in Astana," the document states.
The previous joint session of the Mazhilis and the Senate took place on May 8. This frequency is attributed to the consideration of constitutional laws, which Parliament passes only during joint sessions.
Last Friday, deputies approved first-reading amendments to the constitutional laws on the President and elections. They also considered the Constitutional Law — on the Kurultai — Kazakhstan's new unicameral parliament, for which elections are scheduled for August this year.
