This was announced during a meeting of Japan's Cabinet of Ministers. The list of goods whose export is banned has been expanded to include 335 items, including parts for crane engines and other specialized equipment, as well as small motorcycles, which could enhance Russia's industrial potential.
The sanctions also include chemicals such as capsaicin, which could be used in the development of chemical weapons.
The export ban on these items will come into effect on January 23.
The government decision also includes a ban on exports to 31 organizations from six countries suspected of aiding Russia in circumventing sanctions. These groups are located in Kazakhstan, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), China, Kyrgyzstan, Thailand, and Turkey.

Additionally, the list of frozen assets now include 11 individuals, 29 organizations, and 3 banks from Russia. The asset freeze will also affect one non-Russian individual and one bank.
Japan's Chief Cabinet Secretary, Yoshimasa Hayashi, stated at a press conference that Japan will continue to contribute to international efforts to resolve the situation regarding Ukraine, working in cooperation with the international community, including the G7 countries.
