According to the akimat, on June 19, storm winds of up to 43 meters per second were recorded in the Pavlodar region. The storm caused significant damage to infrastructure, power outages, and injuries among the population.

“According to emergency services, 16 people were injured, including three children. One fatality was recorded – a 1968-born woman died in Aksu,” the statement said.

In Pavlodar, roofs of 47 buildings were damaged, including 6 social institutions. In Aksu and Ekibastuz, 23 facilities were affected; in Bayanaul district – 7 facilities, and additional damage was reported in Maisky and Pavlodar districts.

Power supply disruptions were observed in several cities and districts. As of now, outages have been confirmed in Aksu and Bayanaul district.

Restoration efforts are underway. Crews are working to repair 16 damaged communication and power line poles. Over 300 workers and 103 units of special equipment have been deployed.

As a reminder, the hurricane struck Pavlodar region in the late afternoon of June 19. Storm winds damaged bus stops, children’s playgrounds, and uprooted dozens of trees, many of which fell on parked vehicles, causing further destruction.
