Tengrinews.kz - In winter, when moving across ice crossings, it is important to follow a number of safety rules.

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, first of all, it is necessary to follow the instructions of all installed signs and not exceed the permissible load on the ice.

  • Drive onto ice smoothly, avoiding sudden movements and braking.
  • Seat belts must be unfastened and car doors must be unlocked so that passengers can quickly exit the vehicle in case of danger.
  • Stopping, jerking, turning around, overtaking, and refueling a vehicle are prohibited on an ice crossing.

In addition, driving on ice is not recommended in conditions of poor visibility, such as fog or snowstorm. The Ministry of Emergency Situations reminds that the safe thickness of ice for passenger cars is at least 30 centimeters, and for trucks - 50 centimeters.
