In total, March has 14 days off, including weekends and holidays:
- Those who work a five-day week will have 14 days off;
- Those who work a six-day week will have 10 days off.
What holidays will be in March
March is incredibly rich in holidays. The first holiday of the spring season is March 8 – International Women's Day. Since it falls on a Saturday, the day off will be moved to Monday, March 10:
- For a five-day workweek: March 8, 9, and 10 will be days off.
- For a six-day workweek: March 8 and 9 will be days off, while March 10 will be a workday.
Nauryz is one of the most significant and eagerly awaited holidays in Kazakhstan. It will bring five consecutive days off:
- For a five-day workweek: March 21-25 will be days off;
- For a six-day workweek: March 21-24 will be days off, while March 25 will be a workday.
What commemorative dates will be observed in March?
March also includes professional and commemorative dates:
- March 1 – Gratitude Day. A day to express gratitude and promote mutual respect among citizens.
- Second Saturday of March – Day of Land Surveying, Geodesy and Cartography. A holiday for specialists involved in land development and mapping the country's territories.
By the way, the Ministry of Ecology has prepared a draft order proposing changes to the list of holidays in Kazakhstan. According to the document, they plan to add Kazakh Dog Breeds Day on September 3 to the list of official commemorative dates. More details in the full article.
