Tengrinews.kz - The Ministry of Ecology has prepared a draft order to amend the list of public holidays in Kazakhstan.
According to the document, they plan to add the "Kazakh Dog Breeds Day" on September 3.
The justification for the proposal clarifies that, unfortunately, among the many holidays in Kazakhstan, there is no celebration for those working in the preservation and breeding of Kazakh dog breeds such as the Tazy and Tobet.
Tazy and Tobet are ancient Kazakh dog breeds, the pride of the Kazakh people, and one of the seven treasures of "Zheti kazyna" (Seven Treasures). Tazy dogs are irreplaceable helpers for hunting, and Tobets are tireless guards of herds and property. These breeds are tied to our history, and their origins date back centuries.
According to the explanatory note, Kazakh Dog Breeds Day could feature lectures, seminars, exhibitions, and events dedicated to the history, characteristics, and care of these breeds, which would increase general awareness.
Additionally, establishing the holiday will provide more opportunities for breeders, cynological organizations, and enthusiasts of Kazakh breeds to exchange experiences, participate in exhibitions, competitions, and other events.
The implementation of this project will not require additional expenses from the state budget.
