Tengrinews.kz – The Embassy of Kazakhstan in Qatar has urged citizens to remain calm and follow general safety guidelines.
The official statement was published by the diplomatic mission on Monday, June 23, via social media.
“Dear citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Qatar! At present, the situation in Qatar is safe for residents and visitors. We ask you not to panic, remain in a safe place, and follow general safety rules,” the statement reads.
The embassy reminded Kazakhstani tourists who are currently stranded in Qatar that the country’s airspace is fully closed at the moment.
As soon as flights resume, Kazakhstani tour operators will be notified of new flight dates. Relevant work is ongoing, the diplomatic mission added.
The embassy emphasized that it is closely monitoring the situation and, if necessary, will take additional measures in coordination with relevant authorities from both countries to ensure the safety of Kazakhstani citizens.
“We ask you to stay in a safe location until the situation stabilizes,” the statement concluded.
As a reminder, on Monday, Iran attacked the U.S. Al-Udeid Air Base in Qatar. Iran’s armed forces claimed to have launched “powerful and destructive strikes” on the base.
Loud explosions were heard in the Qatari capital, Doha. Flashes were seen in the sky, presumably from air defense systems, and falling objects were spotted hitting the ground.
