According to preliminary data from the Kazakhstan Data Center, the earthquake occurred on January 22 at 12:03 p.m. Astana time. The magnitude of the tremor was 4.3.
Based on seismic maps, the epicenter was located approximately 282 kilometers southeast of Almaty.
No information has been reported regarding tremors being felt on the territory of Kazakhstan.
Earlier, on January 12, an earthquake was recorded near Almaty. According to the National Scientific Center for Seismological Observations and Research under the Ministry of Emergency Situations, its magnitude was 4.0. At that time, the tremors were also not felt in Kazakhstan.
