Tengrinews.kz - An earthquake occurred at the Tengiz oil field in western Kazakhstan on May 11, citing Ak Zhaiyk.
According to the information, the tremor was reported by workers at the site and the United States Geological Survey (USGS).
The earthquake had a magnitude of 4.2, with the hypocenter located at a depth of 10 kilometers. Eyewitnesses said the tremors lasted for about five seconds.
According to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), the earthquake occurred 32 kilometers southwest of the village of Karaton and 150 kilometers southeast of Atyrau.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the earthquake occurred at 11:44 a.m. in the Atyrau region (Zhylyoi district, Tengiz oil field) on May 11 and was not felt. No calls were received from the population.
Earlier, an earthquake occurred in the Almaty region near the village of Kegen and the border with Kyrgyzstan.
