Tengrinews.kz - A dust storm hit Astana on the afternoon of April 29.
Residents had already been warned a day earlier about worsening weather conditions, including rain, snow, strong winds, and a drop in temperature.
However, on Tuesday, the city saw only lower temperatures and strong winds—accompanied by a sudden dust storm, according to forecasters.
Readers of Tengrinews.kz have shared photos of the storm as it passed through the capital.
Meteorologists reported that wind speeds reached 15–20 m/s, with gusts occasionally rising to 23–28 m/s.
Nighttime temperatures are expected to drop to +9°C to +11°C, with daytime temperatures remaining around the same level.
Earlier, forecasters had warned of frost and thunderstorms expected in Astana and Almaty between April 30 and May 2.
