Tengrinews.kz - Therapist and nutritionist Galina Volkova listed several foods that have a positive effect on gut microbiota, citing RIA Novosti.
According to the expert, this includes fermented vegetables such as cucumbers and cabbage (sauerkraut).
"You can include fermented vegetables like cabbage and cucumbers in your diet. They provide the body not only with vitamins but also with probiotics that are beneficial for gut microbiota," Volkova said.
The doctor noted that, in addition to fermented vegetables, frozen berries and vegetable mixes also have a positive effect on the body in spring. They can be consumed during the time of year when fresh vegetables and fruits are scarce, since proper shock freezing preserves most of the vitamins and minerals.
"Remember that even when fresh produce is limited in spring, there are always accessible options that allow you to eat a balanced diet and support your health," the dietitian added.
Previously, a doctor explained the potential risks of a prolonged all-meat diet and the exclusion of vegetables.
