Tengrinews.kz – Mazhilis deputy Zharkynbek Amantay sent a request to Deputy Prime Minister Tamara Duisenova, proposing to investigate the activities of various coaches, webinar sellers, and fake gurus.

The deputy described the growth of bloggers who sell "cheap wisdom," low-quality knowledge, create hype, or extort money from people through social networks as one of the main problems facing Kazakh society.

"Such people are called fake gurus. At a recent forum of deputies, the President noted that some people who consider themselves bloggers monitor akims, interfere with their work, and even threaten them. The number of those who lure the public with empty promises, spreading courses and training on social networks such as 'The path to happiness' and 'Get rich quickly,' is increasing," Zharkynbek stated at the plenary session of the Mazhilis.

Among these bloggers and business coaches, according to the deputy, there are also representatives of show business. Although most of them do not have specialized education, they provide paid psychological consultations to many.

"Fake gurus abuse the trust of citizens by using certain psychological methods to convince them to buy a course. The pursuit of easy money and victories leads people to waste time and money on empty promises instead of developing skills. They promote not only useless but also harmful information," Zharkynbek said.

In his opinion, as a result of such fake gurus, families are being destroyed, the number of divorces are increasing, and many children are left orphaned. Despite the fact that these sellers of information earn millions through social networks, they do not pay a penny in taxes to the budget.

"It's time to regulate this legally. I propose to check the legality of the activities of webinar and information product sellers, develop a regulatory bill, strengthen internet monitoring, and respond to violations. It is also necessary to establish professional standards for business coaches and inform the public about protection against online fraudsters and fake gurus," the parliamentarian said.
