Tengrinews.kz – The National Bank of Kazakhstan is issuing commemorative coins titled Uly Zhenis. 80 zhyl (“Great Victory. 80 Years”) as part of the “Outstanding Events and People” series.
The release of these collector coins, with face values of 200 and 1,000 tenge, is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory Day.
The coins feature an eternal flame, symbolizing the memory of fallen heroes. The ornamental design on the number “80” represents the Victory ribbon and is stylized to echo elements of the Kazakh national flag.

The 1,000 tenge coins are made of 925 sterling silver with gold plating, with a limited mintage of 2,000 pieces.
The 200 tenge coins are made of a nickel-brass and cupronickel alloy, with a circulation of 10 million pieces. These are intended for general use alongside standard circulation coins in the country.
