Tengrinews.kz - The second Central Asia – China summit was held in Astana, according to Akorda.
President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev began his opening remarks by thanking Chinese President Xi Jinping for his firm commitment to comprehensive cooperation with the countries of Central Asia.
Tokayev also expressed appreciation to the leaders of the brotherly Central Asian nations for their active engagement in the summit and consistent support for regional cooperation.
Tokayev on China: Kazakhstan has found an eternal partner and true friend
He praised Xi Jinping’s initiative to create a "community with a shared future for neighboring countries," highlighting that it aligns with the principles of equal partnership, mutual benefit, and respect.
In addition to President Tokayev, the summit featured speeches from:
- Chinese President Xi Jinping
- President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov
- President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon
- President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedow
- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev
“Following the summit, the heads of state signed the Astana Declaration of the second Central Asia – China summit, as well as a treaty on eternal good-neighborliness, friendship, and cooperation between the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, the Republic of Uzbekistan, and the People’s Republic of China,” stated the Akorda press service.
Before the official meeting, President Tokayev welcomed the participating leaders at the Palace of Independence and took a joint photo with them.

As a reminder, President Xi Jinping arrived in Kazakhstan on June 16 for a two-day state visit at the invitation of President Tokayev. On the same day, the two leaders held bilateral talks.
President Tokayev emphasized that President Xi is always a highly respected guest on Kazakh soil, and his visit stands as a vivid symbol of the sincere and unwavering friendship between the two nations.
