The construction site and name of the casino have not yet been decided, said the head of the region Nurdaulet Kilybai, answering questions during a briefing in Astana.
"I cannot say that the casino will be called this or that and will be located at this point. We have not yet decided because there is no investor yet. First, we need to make a decision at the legislative level, and then invite investors," explained the akim of the Mangistau region.
At the same time, as Nurdaulet Kilybai specified, only foreigners will be able to enter the casino.
"Our goal is for people coming from abroad to leave money in the economy of Kazakhstan. This could be not only a casino, but also restaurants or the construction of hotels, where both foreigners and Kazakhstanis can invest. The main thing is that they invest money and contribute to our economy. The law has not yet been adopted, but this is exactly the proposal we have put forward," the akim commented.
Journalists asked the head of the region whether this means that citizens of Kazakhstan will be strictly prohibited from entering the casino.
"Yes. You will only be able to enter with a foreign passport," Nurdaulet Kilybai summed up.
Earlier, illegal casinos were found in the popular children's game Roblox.
