Camry or Cobalt? Most common cars spotted on the streets of Astana and Almaty

Tengrinews.kz - The Toyota Camry and Chevrolet Cobalt have emerged as the most frequently seen cars on the streets of Kazakhstan’s two largest cities, according to analysts from Sergek ITS.
Astana
Between January 12 and 20, experts monitored traffic on Turan Avenue and the exit from the Tulpar Bridge in the capital. The clear leader was the Toyota Camry, recorded by traffic cameras nearly 71,000 times. Coming in second was the Chevrolet Cobalt with 36,600 appearances, followed by the Hyundai Tucson with 31,500.
Other popular models included the Hyundai Elantra and Hyundai Accent.
Almaty
In Almaty, the analysis covered the period from February 17 to April 7, focusing on traffic along Al-Farabi Avenue. The Toyota Camry again took the top spot, spotted 67,300 times. The Chevrolet Cobalt followed closely with 63,000 appearances. Rounding out the top three was the Hyundai Tucson with 38,100.
The Hyundai Elantra and Hyundai Accent also made it into the city’s top five most common vehicles.
