Tengrinews.kz – Astana Airport has announced upcoming planned works on the runway. They will take place from 15 April to 31 May 2026 and will affect the daytime flight schedule.
When the restrictions will be in effect
According to approved documentation and NOTAMs, during this period the runway will be closed daily from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM local time. At all other times, the airport will continue to receive and depart aircraft as usual.
This is a temporary daytime restriction only — there are no plans to completely close the airport for the whole day.
Why this is needed
The airport emphasizes that the works are planned in nature.
“The works are aimed at maintaining the aerodrome infrastructure and lighting equipment in operational condition, as well as improving the reliability and safety of flights,” the airport said.
What will happen to the flights
All flights that previously fell within the closed daytime period will be rescheduled to earlier morning or evening times.
“Adjustments to the schedule have been agreed in advance with airlines and the competent state authorities. The airport will continue to operate as normal outside the temporary restriction period,” the airport assured.
How the airport will operate
Outside the restriction period — that is, at night, early in the morning and in the evening — the airport will continue to operate as normal.
Passengers are advised to check their updated departure times before travelling.
“Astana Airport recommends that passengers check the current flight schedule with the airlines and thanks them for their understanding,” the airport said in its address to Kazakhstanis.
