During a briefing, when asked what assistance would be provided to relatives arriving in Aktau, Kilybay assured that help would be available and shared a phone number for inquiries.
"We will provide all necessary assistance. Relatives on the list may not know anyone here—almost all of them are foreigners. If you are coming to Aktau, please note the phone number: +7 702 525 31 01. You can reach out 24/7, but please specify whose relative you are," he said.
According to Kilybay, support with food and accommodation will be extended to all family members of the victims.
Aktau residents have volunteered to donate blood to the survivors.
The Azerbaijan Airlines flight, en route from Baku (Azerbaijan) to Grozny (Russia), crashed three kilometers from Aktau at 11:30 A.M. local time on December 25. The passenger plane was unable to land in Grozny due to heavy fog and was first diverted to Makhachkala before being redirected to Aktau.
Earlier, it was reported that the black box of the Embraer 190 passenger plane that crashed near Aktau on December 25 has been recovered.
