Tengrinews.kz - Kazakhstan has digitized another step in the process of obtaining a driver’s license, eliminating the need to submit a paper version of medical form 073/y, according to the “Government for Citizens” state corporation.
Medical examination data is now automatically transferred to the Public Service Centers (PSCs) from the Ministry of Healthcare’s database.
This update is aimed at preventing the use of fake medical certificates when applying for a driver's license, as all information is verified directly through the system without requiring input from the applicant.
Authorities clarified that a medical check is not required when replacing a still-valid driver’s license. Certificates from psychiatric and narcological dispensaries are also no longer needed in such cases.
What to do if your license has expired
In Kazakhstan, driver’s licenses are valid for 10 years.
However, citizens can apply for a replacement in advance, ideally 1 to 1.5 months before the expiration date.
Those who miss the deadline must visit a special PSC in their place of residence.
The required documents include an ID, medical certificate (form 073/y), and a fee payment receipt for 1.25 MCI (4,915 tenge).
