Tengrinews.kz — Due to the heat, temperature-related deformations have been detected on cement-concrete roads in Zhambyl, Pavlodar and Turkestan regions.

This was reported earlier by the press service of KazAvtoZhol.

According to the company, road services are carrying out round-the-clock monitoring of highways. As of July 18, sections with a total length of 1,636.5 kilometers are under control.

“During scheduled inspections, specialists promptly identified six sections with local temperature-related deformations in Zhambyl, Pavlodar and Turkestan regions. Road crews and specialized equipment were immediately sent to each of them,” the statement said.

A total of 51 road specialists and the necessary specialized equipment were involved in the emergency work. All identified defects were eliminated, and traffic has been fully ensured.

At extremely high temperatures, the surface of cement-concrete pavement can heat up to +60…+70°C or more. As a result, significant internal stresses arise in concrete slabs. This is a known operational phenomenon observed in many countries around the world during periods of abnormal heat.

That is why special attention is paid in summer to continuous monitoring of road conditions, the company noted. Regular patrols make it possible to detect potential areas of temperature-related deformation at an early stage and promptly carry out preventive or repair work, preventing more serious consequences.
