Almaty residents receive emergency alert

Tengrinews.kz – On May 14 at 11:00 a.m., sirens sounded in Almaty. A Tengrinews.kz correspondent found out the reason.

Earlier, the Almaty Department of Emergency Situations warned that a citywide earthquake drill would be held in the city. It was reported that on the day of the drill, the city alert system would be activated through siren and voice warning systems, interruptions of TV and radio broadcasts, notifications via mobile applications, and the Mass Alert warning system.

Almaty residents received a notification about the earthquake drill on their smartphones, accompanied by a sharp sound.

The Department of Emergency Situations also reported that 384 reception points for the population would be deployed in Almaty.
