Tengrinews.kz - On Thursday, May 1, Almaty’s Zhetysu district will host an event to prepare the “longest lagman in Kazakhstan,” according to Almaty.tv.

The initiative is being held to mark Kazakhstan's People Solidarity Holiday and aims to promote national values and strengthen friendship in the country’s multiethnic society.

Lagman is a beloved dish across many cultures, and this record-breaking version is intended to symbolize shared cultural heritage.

The event is organized by the ethnocultural centers of the Zhetysu district, and the record will be officially registered with the participation of representatives from the Kazakhstan Book of Records.

“The event will take place at the sports and recreation complex No. 179 (‘Ainabulak’) in the Ainabulak microdistrict, Zhetysu district, Almaty. It will begin on May 1, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. Residents and guests of the city are invited to join and witness this unique occasion,” the announcement reads.
