"The preparation of temporary shelters is strictly a preventive measure, as stipulated by response protocols for potential threats. Despite the activation of the notification system, no citizens have sought assistance at the shelters," the administration stated.
City services, in coordination with the Department of Emergency Situations, continue to monitor the situation 24/7 and maintain control over the Aksai River basin.
The administration urged residents to remain calm, rely solely on official information, and refrain from spreading unverified reports.
"Should the situation change, residents will be promptly informed through official communication channels," the statement read.
Meanwhile, Damir Yermagambetov, head of the Almaty DES, who is currently at the Aksai River, reported that an emergency response team along with specialists from Kazselezashchita is continuing to monitor the environment.
"On July 1, 2026, as part of the emergency task force from the Almaty DES and Kazselezashchita, we are stationed at the Aksai River, approximately one kilometer upstream, conducting monitoring via drone. Currently, the riverbed is under constant surveillance," he said.
He added that there is currently no threat. Operations centers have been deployed at the Aksai dam and near residential areas. Fortunately, no evacuation of residents was necessary.

As a reminder, the Almaty residents have been warned of the ongoing threat of mudflows in mountainous areas due to heavy rainfall. In the Nauryzbay district, a local emergency alert system was activated, and some residents also received emergency notifications on their mobile phones.
Later, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported, that due to the risk of mudflows in the Nauryzbay district, a preventive evacuation of residents living along the Aksai River is being carried out.
