Tengrinews.kz - Almaty residents have been reminded of how and where to report road defects.
According to the city akimat (local government administration), residents can report road issues through the Telegram bot @AlmatyJolybot by submitting a text message, a photo or video, the address and coordinates, as well as their contact details.
Since April 2024, more than 2,000 complaints have been received via the bot, with each one receiving a response specifying the timeframe for resolving the issue.
This summer, city authorities plan to carry out medium-scale repairs on 300 kilometers of roads, construct 35 kilometers of new roads, and ensure ongoing maintenance of the street and road network in each district of the city.
Residents are urged to use only official channels for submitting complaints, as reports on social media may not always be taken into account.
Earlier, akim (governor) Erbolat Dossaev announced that Almaty authorities were planning to implement low-emission zones where entry for older vehicles would be subject to a fee.
