Tengrinews.kz - It has been announced when the new ice skating season will start at Medeu in Almaty, according to the press service of Almaty's akimat.
Residents and visitors to the city will be able to enjoy ice skating as early as November 1. The skating rink will operate in a technical mode: on this day, everyone will be able to visit the skating rink and try out the ice according to the session schedule.
However, the main celebration will take place on November 2, when the grand opening with an entertainment program will take place. The events will take place from 12 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
"A concert program with the participation of Kazakhstan pop stars is provided for visitors. From 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., guests will enjoy an evening session with competitions, prizes from the host and a DJ creating a disco atmosphere."
They also mentioned what awaits guests in the new season:
"Daily public skating sessions, festive events and sports competitions await visitors in the new season. Those who wish will be able to use skate rental and a recreation area. For the convenience of guests, fast food outlets will be organized on the territory of the skating rink," the city press service noted.
Residents and visitors need to buy tickets through the medeu.kz website to avoid queues at the ticket office and turnstile, and also to travel by bus to avoid traffic jams and parking difficulties.
"On the opening day, it is planned to strengthen bus route No. 12 to the high-mountain skating rink Medeu. Buses will operate on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 12 a.m. and on weekends from 8 a.m. to 1 a.m. Departure points can be found in the 2GIS service," the representatives of the akimat said.
Medeu is one of the largest high-mountain skating rinks in the world, it is located at an altitude of 1,690 meters above sea level and has been a favorite place for active recreation for residents and visitors of the city for many years.
Earlier, a video of young men throwing 'stones' at a cable car in Medeu sparked outrage online.
