Tengrinews.kz — President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated citizens of Kazakhstan on Republic Day, calling for unity and mutual respect among the nation’s people.
The head of state urged Kazakh citizens to value the creative spirit of society and to support its positive development, noting that “dreaming and setting goals is the right thing to do.”
“As the saying goes, ‘Torteu tugel bolsa, tobedegi keledi’ — ‘When four stand together, they can even reach what is on the mountaintop.’ In other words, unity makes us capable of overcoming any challenge. If we, as a nation, want to reach great heights, we must first be united, show solidarity, and respect one another,” Tokayev said.
He emphasized that citizens living in one country should not fall into conflicts and divisions.
“Devaluing someone’s work, mocking someone’s opinion, or discrediting others are actions alien to a developed and civilized society — and even shameful. For such actions, one must be held accountable before society and the law. Discussions on the internet that begin with a single topic often turn into endless disputes — this has become a phenomenon that can be described as a very dangerous social illness. We must rid ourselves of this disease,” Tokayev stated.
Earlier this year, during the 4th National Kurultai in Burabay, the President also spoke about the rise of online insults, calling them unacceptable and stressing that such behavior must be stopped.
