Tengrinews.kz – In September 2025, Kazakhstan’s National Security Committee (NSC) prevented a terrorist attack being planned by five foreign nationals in Almaty, according to the Committee’s press service.

Tengrinews.kz – In September 2025, Kazakhstan’s National Security Committee (NSC) prevented a terrorist attack being planned by five foreign nationals in Almaty, according to the Committee’s press service.

All suspects have been arrested, and an investigation is underway.

“Additionally, in September and October of this year, eight Kazakh citizens were taken into custody in connection with criminal cases on charges of promoting terrorism,” the NSC reported.

Information regarding the ongoing investigation is not subject to disclosure.

During the same period, based on NSC materials, six individuals were sentenced to various prison terms for committing terrorist and extremist crimes.

Since the beginning of the year, a total of 89 people, including six foreign nationals, have been prosecuted for similar offenses, the NSC added.
