Tengrinews.kz – A foreign national who caught police attention after multiple traffic violations was detained in the center of the capital. His attempt to flee ended with a three-day arrest.
The incident occurred at the intersection of Akmeshit and Almaty streets. The driver of a Mercedes, upon noticing a patrol car, tried to escape by turning into a courtyard, where he crashed into a barrier and two parked cars. He then attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended.
During the inspection, it was revealed that the man was a foreigner illegally residing in the country. He had several violations on record, including:
- using fake license plates,
- operating an illegal taxi,
- driving without insurance.
The vehicle had been given to him by an acquaintance, who will also be held accountable.
The license plates on the Mercedes belonged to another vehicle and had been removed from someone else’s car. The court ordered the offender to be arrested for three days and held liable for violating migration laws.
