Tengrinews.kz – Kazhydromet forecasters have presented the weather forecast for May 16, 17 and 18.
Bad weather to hit Kazakhstan
In the coming days, Kazakhstan’s weather will be shaped by two pressure systems. The western and southern regions will be affected by a southern cyclone, bringing short-term rain and thunderstorms. On May 18, heavy rain and hail are expected in the west of the country.
“On the nights of May 16–17, precipitation, including rain and snow, is expected in the north and east of the country as atmospheric fronts pass through. Strong winds are forecast across the country, with dust storms in the south. Fog is expected at night and in the morning in the north and east,” the statement said.
Temperature outlook
At night, frost down to -1…-6°C is expected in the north, east and center of the country.
Daytime air temperatures are expected as follows:
- in the west, a decrease from +30…+37°C to +25…+30°C;
- in the northwest, +25…+30°C;
- in the north, a decrease from +20…+30°C to +15…+20°C;
- in the center, an increase from +25…+30°C to +29…+34°C;
- in the east, +12…+20°C;
- in the south, an increase from +30…+35°C to +33…+40°C;
- in the southeast, an increase from +18…+25°C to +25…+32°C.
