Tengrinews.kz – Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population Svetlana Zhakupova reported cases of workplace injuries and fatalities in Kazakhstan.
According to the minister, in 2024, a total of 1,448 Kazakhstanis were injured in workplace accidents.
"Of these, 220 were fatal. Over 445,000 jobs are still classified as hazardous or dangerous. A total of 15,976 citizens have been diagnosed with occupational disability, including 8,204 due to occupational diseases and 7,771 due to work-related injuries," Zhakupova said at a government meeting today.
These figures indicate the need for a continued systematic update of approaches to occupational safety, the minister added.
