Tengrinews.kz - It has been revealed whether the family of the girl from Uralsk received the compensation due to them for the incident when the child was left alone at the Astana airport. The updated information was provided by the family's lawyer, Danilkhan Shagatayev.

According to him, the family has already received compensation from Air Astana. Previously, the lawyer mentioned that on July 21, 2024, the minor Zere was not allowed to board the FlyArystan flight from Astana to Uralsk. She was supposed to fly with her twin sister to join their parents at their place of residence. However, due to overbooking, the girl could not board the flight.

"By the court's decision, the family received 5 million tenge as moral compensation, as well as 251,846 tenge to cover legal expenses. The case is now closed," said Danilkhan Shagatayev.

Thus, the girl's family received a total of 5,251,846 tenge from the airline.

The lawyer also summarized the high-profile case, noting that it could set a precedent.

"The situation was complicated because the airline claimed that the mother herself refused the hotel. We had to put in effort to refute this and prove that the airline had denied the accompanying relative the provision of a hotel for Zere, stating that the relative was not a passenger on the flight. We went through two court processes—administrative and civil—and in both, we were able to prove our case," said Danilkhan Shagatayev.

Recall that on January 13, it was announced that the appeal filed by Air Astana against the decision of the Turksib district court in Almaty had been completed. The airline had requested to reduce the moral compensation from 5 million to 1.5 million tenge. However, the court rejected the appeal. This means that the child's mother will receive 5 million tenge as moral compensation, as initially decided by the first court.

As a reminder, a Kazakh woman named Zhazira shared on her Instagram page that her twin daughters, Zere and Zaure, were returning from the USA with a group and an assigned guardian. They were supposed to transfer in Astana and continue their flight to Uralsk. However, the airline registered Zaure for the flight but not Zere.
