Tengrinews.kz – A tragic accident occurred on a highway in the Mangystau region. A passenger-filled Toyota Hiace minibus overturned into a roadside ditch. Ten people died, and three others were hospitalized. The Health Department of Mangystau Region provided information about the condition of those injured in the crash.
According to regional health officials, three passengers were transported from the scene to the Zhanaozen Multidisciplinary City Hospital.
“A man born in 1964 and a woman born in 1967 were admitted to the intensive care unit. Their condition is critical. Another woman, born in 1960, is being treated in the hospital’s trauma department. Her condition is seriously stable,” the department stated.
The accident happened on September 11 on the Beket-Ata – Shopan-Ata highway, about 90 kilometers from the village of Senek in the Karakiya district. The Toyota Hiace minibus, carrying numerous passengers, overturned into a ditch. According to preliminary reports, the driver lost control of the vehicle. Ten people lost their lives.
It was later revealed that the passengers were pilgrims heading to the sacred site of Beket-Ata. Following the tragedy, Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs established an emergency task force, which is working around the clock.
