Tengrinews.kz — The Big Almaty Lake (BAL) has once again become the center of attention after a video posted by a 29-year-old Almaty resident named Kuanysh went viral on social media, garnering over 30,000 views.
The breathtaking footage of the lake, captured on November 9, impressed many viewers, with some expressing a desire to visit the lake after watching the video.
"Magical place!" "A true mountain symphony," "We're planning to visit BAL soon," "It’s always beautiful there, no matter the season," "Incredibly beautiful!" were some of the comments.

We spoke to Kuanysh to learn more about the shoot. He shared that there were many tourists on the lake that day, and mentioned that he films in the mountains purely as a hobby on weekends, while working in a bank during the week.
"BAL in winter amazes with its silence and purity. It's cold, but beautiful," said Kuanysh.
He also offered advice for future visitors, warning that the trails to the lake can be slippery, with ice and packed snow making the hike potentially dangerous.
"Make sure to wear warm, waterproof boots with good grip, and crampons for your shoes are a must," he advised.
According to Kuanysh, the best time to visit is from September to November, especially November. During this period, the lake's water takes on a unique turquoise-blue hue that beautifully contrasts with the snowy peaks.
"The best time to go is in the morning, from about 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. It gets dark and cold quickly in the mountains, and the descent on icy trails can be dangerous," he added.
