Tengrinews.kz — A single individual in Kazakhstan is registered as the owner of 773 residential properties. This data was provided by the "Government for Citizens" state corporation in response to an official inquiry from Tengrinews.kz.
According to the "Unified State Real Estate Cadastre" (USREC) information system, registered ownership of residential real estate is held by 5,553,113 individuals.
The vast majority of these individuals—4,296,130 people.
Another 934,783 people own two apartments or houses, while 219,300 own three properties.
At the same time, thousands of citizens in Kazakhstan own multiple real estate assets. For instance, 82,640 people own between four and five properties, 17,592 own between six and ten, and 1,555 individuals own between 11 and 15 residential units.
Large-scale property owners represent a rarer category. According to official data:
- 476 people own between 16 and 20 properties;
- 489 people own between 21 and 50;
- 124 people own between 51 and 100;
- 47 people own more than 100 residential properties.
Furthermore, 22 individuals own more than 150 residential units, and 5 individuals own more than 500 properties. There are no officially registered owners with over a thousand residential properties in Kazakhstan.
The maximum number of residential properties registered to a single person is 773. Of these, 745 are located in the Kostanay region, 24 in the North Kazakhstan region, and 4 in the Karaganda region.
In total, according to the USREC, 5,403,790 residential properties are registered to individuals, while 366,770 are registered to legal entities.
The state corporation also noted that it does not have data on how many Kazakhstanis do not own any housing at all, as such information is not maintained in the USREC system.
Similarly, the system contains no data on the number of minor property owners or the number of residential units registered to children.
In March of this year, the Bureau of National Statistics reported that one Kazakhstani was registered as owning 1,011 apartments. Another owner held 645 apartments, and a third held 399. At that time, the figures referred specifically to apartments.
