Kazakhstan WWII veterans to get free dental implants

Veterans of the World War II in Kazakhstan will get free dental implants under the state public healthcare development program Salamatty Kazakhstan, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the press-conference called Dental health of Kazakhstan population: status, problems, innovations. Kazakhstan implantologists association are following the experience of Ukraine, where the Quality of parents' life campaign was launched some time ago. As of today 747 implants have been installed for 167 World War II veterans in Ukraine. Registered manufacturers of dental implants will take part in the campaign in Kazakhstan. 70 percent of local and 30 percent of foreign doctors are expected to participate. Similar campaigns have already been held in Russia, Poland and Bulgaria. “High rate of dental diseases in children, teenagers and residents of rural areas has been registered in Kazakhstan. 50-60 percent of the village population need medical treatment,” said a chief freelance dentist of Kazakhstan Ministry of Healthcare Assel Yessembayeva. As per Yessembayeva, this information became available after analysis of dental healthcare development in the last five years. Currently there are 570 state and 1,165 private dental clinics operating in Kazakhstan. There are the total of 5,875 dentists in Kazakhstan. It has not yet been defined how many Kazakhstan veterans will get dentists' aid and how much money from the state budget is required.
